Business Plan
The Regional Transportation Alliance focuses on the achievement of several key transportation and legislative/policy priorities. In 2007-08, under the direction of Alliance Chair Rusine Mitchell-Sinclair, Alliance volunteers and staff will use a dynamic Business Plan centered on five focus areas designed to meet our transportation and policy objectives.

Vice chair: Rick Weddle, Research Triangle Foundation
- Align transportation policy objectives within the regional business community and among regional state and national partners
- Catalyze the implementation of Alliance priorities at the state and federal level by maintaining strong relationships with Alliance partners and the media
- Expand the body of policy knowledge and solutions
Multimodal Regional Priorities
Vice chair: Fred Burchett, PE, Kimley-Horn and Associates
- Advance Alliance priorities in state transportation improvement program (TIP) and municipal capital improvement programs (CIP)
- Accelerate the dialogue on regional transit and, as appropriate, intercity high-speed rail
- Expand the body of transportation knowledge and solutions
Air Service
Vice chair: Jim Captain, Credit Suisse
- Increase the number of nonstop domestic and international destinations from RDU and expand the frequency and seat capacity of critical existing RDU destinations
Member and Chamber Relations
Vice chair: Marty Clayton, Progress Energy
- Expand the depth of involvement by Alliance volunteers throughout the organization on policy and transportation priorities
- Retain all Leadership Team members and 90% of all other members by ensuring that members are informed, engaged, and appreciated
Development
Vice chair: Lynne Garrison, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina
- Expand membership revenue base by 50% by January 1, 2009
- Increase sponsorship revenues for key events and publications to maximize value
