Rusine Mitchell-Sinclair

Rusine became the first CEO of the new Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines on August 1, 2007. The new council covers 41 counties in North Carolina. Prior to joining the Girl Scouts, Rusine spent 25 years with IBM as a Vice President and officer of the IBM Corporation and most recently the IBM Senior State Executive for North Carolina. She has both global and domestic business experience and functional experience including executive general management, business and IT strategy, global business operations and management, marketing and product development.
Not only is Rusine a long-time mentor to young professionals at IBM and most recently at the newly formed Girl Scout council, but also she is passionate about community service. Throughout her life, Rusine has given her time and expertise to a variety of community activities. Rusine was the Chairman of the Wake Education Partnership Board of Trustees, a member of the Wake Med Foundation Board of Trustees, on the executive committee for Pines of Carolina Girl Scout Council and Meredith College Business Advisory Board. Rusine also serves on the executive committee and formerly chaired the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA). She is on the executive board committee for North Carolina Citizens for Business and Industry (NCCBI) and the University of North Carolina Parents Council, and the Capital City Club Board of Directors.
Rusine received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois and completed the program for management development from Harvard Business School. She lives in Raleigh, North Carolina and is married with one daughter who is an undergraduate student at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. |
