SmartCommuting

The Regional Transportation Alliance remains committed to highlighting and supporting the efforts of SmartCommute@RTP – a nationwide leader in supporting multimodal transportation and transportation alternatives – and other Alliance members and partner transit agencies across the region, including the Triangle Transit Authority. SmartCommuting initiatives seek to reduce the demands on the transportation system and lessen the need for capital improvements. Examples include telecommuting, ridematching, and guaranteed rides home. Ongoing successes in this area have reduced vehicle miles traveled, gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel consumed, air quality emissions, and employee stress levels.
