Triangle Mobility Action Partnership (Tri-MAP) forum
June 15
A key catalyst in helping advance our region’s mobility agenda, the Triangle Mobility Action Partnership (Tri-MAP) serves as an ongoing forum to help increase understanding and build consensus among elected officials, transportation partners and the regional business community regarding key transportation challenges.
Tri-MAP affords participants a periodic solution-oriented dialogue to help identify potential pitfalls, opportunities and allied issues. Individual Tri-MAP participants cooperatively provide the information, guidance and counsel needed for the region to create sound policy and outreach strategies concerning transportation issues.
The following groups currently participate in the Tri-MAP forum:
- Area metropolitan planning organizations for transportation (MPOs)
- Triangle Transit
- RDU Airport Authority
- Mayors or representatives from the largest cities in the Triangle
- County commissioners or representatives from Durham, Orange, and Wake Counties
- NC Metropolitan Mayors Coalition
- Triangle-J Council of Governments
- Triangle area members of the NC Board of Transportation along with NCDOT staff from both central office and Triangle area divisions
- Triangle area members of the NC Turnpike Authority
- NC Railroad Company
- Members or staff from area state and federal legislative delegations
- Regional Transportation Alliance steering committee
Tri-MAP meetings are held every other month. Tri-MAP is coordinated by the Regional Transportation Alliance with Aaron Guyton, 2011-12 RTA Legislative and Policy Chair, facilitating the meetings.
Our next meeting will be held Friday, June 15, 2012.
