Proposed Richmond-Raleigh high speed rail line receives $4m from Federal Railroad Admin to finalize study
* Study will finalize environmental work and will include updated revenue/ridership forecasts
* Lays groundwork for construction of future high speed rail line that will have 80 MPH+ average and 110 MPH top speed
* Raleigh-Richmond shortcut will save nearly 2 hours off of trip time between Raleigh and Washington, DC
* Brings us closer to future east coast rail network and improved connections to the Northeast Corridor
