The region’s business leaders know that an enhanced transit system is mission-critical for our efforts to attract and retain top talent. After our region’s success in 2009 in gaining approval for local empowerment legislation, the focus has now turned toward the development of regional transit plans in each county in the Triangle.

A new expressway to the Park
The regional business community worked in cooperation with our transportation partners and elected leaders to advance the Triangle Expressway turnpike: the largest highway project in North Carolina history, a traffic signal-free alternative to congested highway 55 in western Wake and southern Durham counties and a faster way to Research Triangle Park.
