Vote for Raleigh Transportation Bond on Tuesday, Oct. 11

The RTA Steering Committee has endorsed the City of Raleigh’s transportation bond referendum proposal that is on the ballot for this Tuesday, October 11.  We encourage all Raleigh residents to vote for the bond proposal and supportseveral projects that will improve the transportation network in the capital city, including:

  • Transit facility upgrades to Moore Square and Union Stations in Downtown Raleigh, and the addition of shelters and benches transit stops throughout the City ($7m)
  • Widening Tryon Road in south Raleigh ($2m)
  • Operational improvements to South Street and Lenoir Street in Downtown Raleigh ($2m)
  • Sidewalk construction, repair and maintenance citywide ($8m)
  • Greenway construction and improvements ($6m)
  • Other transportation improvement projects ($15m)

The $40 million bond package will cost on average $11.85/year in annual property tax payments for City of Raleigh residents.
