Next steps for Capital Boulevard
Upgrading US 1 / Capital Boulevard in northern Wake County to a freeway, including the development of parallel access roads, remains our top freeway priority for the region.
While the prior toll conversation has ended, it did serve to provide focus on the importance of the roadway.
Here is a link to an excellent Triangle Business Journal article this week on the corridor, and on tolling in general. It includes some of the information from this week’s RTA blog post on the topic to provide the RTA perspective.
I-40 task force to be slightly less rapid
The I-40 Partnership rapid, scalable implementation (RSI) task force will be focused on both strategic goals for Interstate 40 across the I-40 Partnership area, as well as promising, quick implementation solutions. However, while the task force will be working on rapid solutions, due to some partner schedule conflicts we will be unable to hold our planning meeting this coming week.
The first meeting of the I-40 Partnership rapid, scalable implementation (RSI) task force will now be held on Friday, February 6, from 10 am to 12 noon. The meeting will be hosted by RTA Regional Leadership Team member SAS. Register via this new link if you are interested in participating.
Have a great weekend, everyone.
Let’s get moving,
Joe
