Member Briefing: February 11, 2022

Here is a brief weekly update from the RTA business coalition – the voice of the regional business community on transportation.

RTA South Florida tour — let’s get moving
As we noted in last week’s briefing, we are looking forward to the RTA 2022 Regional Leadership Tour to South Florida, now scheduled for Tuesday, March 29 through Thursday, March 31. We will have all briefings, presentations, and attendee receptions outside, with rain backup locations. Tour registration and sponsorships are again available and open, and we will continue to allow all current or new tour registrants to make substitutions from their same organization through the beginning of the tour. We have around 70 people signed up for the March tour dates, including two new registrants as of last week.

Register for RTA online general membership meeting – Feb 23
We have around 60 people already signed up for our first general membership meeting of 2022 for all RTA members. The meeting will be held online-only on Wednesday, February 23, at 11 am. We will hear an overview from new RTA chair Harold Hicks with RTI International, updates from RDU CEO Mike Landguth on the airport, and comments from several of our focus area chairs. I encourage all RTA members to participate or send a representative. Please register here if you can attend, as we will have action items for all members.

International inevitability
Speaking of our hometown international airport — this week’s blog focuses on the return of service from RDU to Europe, including the upcoming Icelandair launch as well as future returns of our London and Paris service. We will continue to support our partners at RDU as well as our respective airlines as they provide service across the Atlantic commensurate with business and leisure demand from and for our growing region.

Thank you, as always, for your commitment to sustained regional business leadership on mobility.

Let’s get moving,

Joe
