“North Carolina’s Research Triangle region – home to some of the country’s top companies, universities and healthcare centers – is an absolute prime location to examine hyperloop technology,” said Jay Walder, CEO of Virgin Hyperloop One.

“New and emerging technologies will change our relationship with transportation,” said David Howard, chief deputy secretary for the N.C. Department of Transportation. “It’s imperative we stay abreast of these technologies, and we’re excited to work with RTA and the regional business community as we advance the conversation about how these technologies can better connect North Carolinians to other regions of the country.”

“Our market is uniquely positioned to benefit from a hyperloop travel solution – not only due to our technology focus, spatial layout, and favorable mid-east coast location, but also the opportunity to leverage interconnections with a proposed enhanced regional bus rapid transit and rail network,” said Joe Milazzo II, PE, executive director of the Regional Transportation Alliance.
