Member Briefing: March 17

Join your fellow RTA members on a field visit of 540, an outstanding regional success

A reminder that our first field visit event of the year is later this month, during the morning of March 23rd, where RTA members and partners can network, learn about the largest infrastructure project in our region’s history, and celebrate a two decade long partnership between the regional business community, NCDOT, and our statewide turnpike authority. RSVP using this link if you have not already done so. Each RTA member can register up to three attendees. Please email RTA membership operations coordinator Jacob Rigg if you have any questions, including the event agenda and sponsorship opportunities.

Wake Southern BRT set to receive significant federal funding

The second Wake BRT corridor — along South Wilmington Street, from Raleigh to Garner — is set to receive around 50% of its $173 million total project cost in federal funding, making it the second consecutive proposed BRT corridor (after New Bern Avenue, under construction later this year) to receive significant federal funding for our region. See this week’s blog for more information.

Thank you for your ongoing dedication to regional business leadership on mobility.

Let’s get moving,

Joe
RTA Executive Director
