Bus updates for the R&D cities

The two municipal bus systems serving our beloved R&D cities are receiving new upgrades. GoRaleigh is unveiling a new Google Maps compatible extension to track its buses in real time. Meanwhile, GoDurham has begun implementing QR codes at several of their bus stops to simplify feedback. View this week’s blog for more information.

Here are some upcoming RTA events to mark on your calendar, including several registration links:
· Fri., Apr 19 – RTA Airline CEO Forum* (9a – 11:30a, Umstead Hotel)
· Thur., May 23 – RTA 540 Field Visit (9:30a – 12p, Complete 540 project)
· Tue, Aug. 6 – RTA Transportation Brunch 2024 (9a – 11:30a, Westin RDU Airport)

RTA Transit Acceleration Committee

RTA is launching a new RTA Transit Acceleration Committee. This regionwide committee will have three focuses this year:  Supporting the New Bern Avenue BRT project in Raleigh; supporting the FAST 2.0 study managed by NCDOT and executed by RTA Leadership Team member WSP; and accelerating BRT corridors regionwide, with a particular emphasis on advancing BRT in Durham. Our first committee meeting will be online only, on Monday, June 17th from 11-12 pm. You can register here; more information to come closer to the meeting date.
