From North Carolina to South Florida

RTA members and partners,

We will open up registration by Friday afternoon, October 8 for the RTA winter 2022 Regional Leadership Tour to South Florida. RTA thanks our presenting sponsors GoTriangle and the North Carolina Railroad Company for their support of the event.

During our tour, we will be visiting Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties, including the cities of Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach.

We look forward to learning more about regional commuter rail and intercity passenger rail, bus rapid transit, transit station design and development, greenway and park facilities, express managed lanes, autonomous travel and transportation innovations, responses to climate change concerns, and more.

The tour, which will be held from January 26-28, 2022, will combine a series of in-person presentations and field visits.

As we noted in last week’s weekly member briefing as well as our Thursday Thoughts at 3 blog, RTA fully supports the advancement of a metropolitan rapid transit system for our region. We believe that the upcoming RTA tour to South Florida — which will include elected officials, transportation partners and business leaders from across our region — will prove to be a catalytic moment for our market and our mobility future.

We will stay, learn, and grow together as a regional community, and I look forward to seeing you in Florida.

Let’s get moving,

Joe
